It was 1956 when Federico and Marina Gagliardi opened the doors of Casina Fiorita, a small seaside inn, at a time when Sperlonga was still a hidden gem, with a waterfront traced only by a white dirt road. Their dream was simple: to create a place where every guest could feel at home, welcomed with warmth and authenticity.

Over the years, that small inn transformed into Hotel Aurora, growing alongside the town and becoming a landmark for those seeking genuine hospitality, tranquility, and authentic beauty. Here, among bright rooms and sea-view terraces, artists, writers, and travelers have found inspiration, including Raf Vallone and Silvana Mangano, captivated by the timeless magic of Sperlonga and the Riviera of Ulysses.

There were challenging times, such as the forced closure between 1967 and 1970, but the strength of the family always made the difference. After Federico’s passing, their six children carried on their parents’ legacy with passion and dedication, breathing new life into the hotel. The rooms were renovated with Mediterranean-inspired design, a new wing with panoramic suites was added, wellness spaces such as a gym and massage area were introduced, and local art became part of the hotel’s identity, with paintings and sculptures enriching the ambiance.
